Allbirds sells direct to consumer with no marketplace fallback to lean on: there is no other channel doing the work of being found if the brand's own site is illegible to whatever is doing the finding. As more shoe and apparel research moves through AI assistants, that discoverability question extends to agents the same way it already applies to search and social.

This is a partial report: bot protection blocked the scanner before it could evaluate several checks. The passes that did register come largely from the Shopify platform itself, agents.md, llms.txt, and llms-full.txt are all reachable and readable as markdown, alongside an open robots.txt, a reachable sitemap, and a clean HTTPS redirect. But the homepage returned a bot-challenge page to the scanner's request, the same block a real shopping agent would meet. That block also meant structured data, meta tags, content negotiation, and readability could not be evaluated at all.

For a marketplace, a blocked scanner is a missed opportunity among many. For a DTC brand whose whole model depends on being found and trusted directly, it is closer to the whole problem.
